One of CHO’s immediate objectives is to promote awareness of child trafficking via training, mixed media presentations, and by liaising with local authorities and other organizations.
Children are trafficked for the sex trade, for begging, to smuggle drugs and to provide cheap labour in neighbouring countries.
CHO visits public schools and villages on the border to educate about child trafficking and domestic violence.
Children kept in school are less vulnerable to trafficking. To this end we have helped rural schools and provided volunteer teachers.
